The Abuse And Recovery From Crystal Meth

The crystal meth epidemic has not been as publicized as the crack epidemic of the 1980's. Also, crystal meth doesn't require the trafficking of it across borders, anyone can make meth at home. Meth is very much a homegrown drug and we are less critical of our own monsters, our own creations than those that come from a foreign land. It is hard to put a face that is unfamiliar as the villain, therefore the crystal meth epidemic fails to create a narrative that can catch steam and one that doesn't remind us that we are our own demons, our own bad guy and the source of our biggest drug problem in years. It is hard to point a finger at ourselves.

This fundamental problem has made it so that meth is ignored, it is only seen as a rural drug and not something that your teenager will try, at least until they do or they die. It has only been after 15 years into this war that PSA commercial are being played about meth addiction. Just say no isn't the cry of this generations war on drug, long prison sentences are not either but commercials about families breaking down and a user finally deciding to get help. They have gotten one thing right and that is the need to get professional help. Addiction recovery requires the help of a trained professional. Recovery is tough, many people fall off the wagon and need a support system to get them back on again. We provide a professional support system for those who are looking for help with their addiction.
